چکیده

Background: Third ventricular colloid cysts are uncommon tumors that make up 15 to 20% of intraventricular and 0.2 2% intracranial tumors. Colloid benign tumors, but they may grow until block the foramen Monro, which might result in a fatal accident. Aim Work: Assessment efficacy endoscopic excision(total or subtotal) cyst relation size Patients Methods: The research was prospectively carried out at neurosurgery department Al-Azhar university hospitals, from January 2019 December 2021. Included fifteen patients with were operated by endoscope for their mass hydrocephalus. Results: This study showed male-to-female ratio 1.5:1, median age 32.87 years. Headache commonest presenting symptom affecting 93.3% patients. Most (93.3%) hydrocephalic time presentation. mean diameter 20.53 mm. usually hyperdense CT scans (60%), hyperintense T1W MRI (60%) variable T2W appearance. Conclusion: T1 MRI. They require surgical resection if larger than 1 cm causing symptoms avoid rapid neurological deterioration unexpected death brought on CSF flow occlusion. has no significant impact cyst.

Endoscopic transtubular resection of a colloid cyst.

Colloid cysts, benign outgrowths from the roof of the third ventricle, warrant resection when they become symptomatic. Historically, this has been performed by craniotomy and a transcortical or a transcallosal approach that employs a pair of fixed blade retractors and an operating microscope. Less invasive endoscopic techniques have employed rigid endoscopes with single or dual working channels...

Endoscopic approach to colloid cysts.

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study is to discuss the variations in the morbid anatomy of colloid cysts with its impact on the choice of endoscopic approach through a standard Kocher's burr hole. METHODS This study was conducted on 18 patients between 1996 and 2006. All patients were operated through a single burr hole at Kocher's point using a rigid endoscope with a single working channel. The a...
